Chemonite is unique. It is the trade name for ACZA. (Ammoniacal Copper Zinc Arsenate). It is the only waterborne preservative which can thoroughly and consistently treat all of the generally used species of wood. The efficiency of the Chemonite process has been well proven by both laboratory tests and actual line use. The formula's tolerance of high temperatures permits the use of a combination of vacuum, heat and pressure to infuse the wood with the chemicals, and at the same time, to saturate the wood with fungi killing heat. Any decay-causing spores are destroyed during this process and the ACZA retained in the wood acts as an efficient barrier to decay and insect attack.
Chemonite treated wood products have an unsurpassed service life. The Forest Products Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Agriculture "rates this treated wood as a permanent material: one with a life expectancy of 50 years or more". The preservative is not injurious to humans, animals or plants.
Chemonite has been proven effective in preventing the attack of Carpenter Ants, Woodpeckers and termites. Tests also show that Chemonite treated wood exhibits significant fire resistant qualities.

In addition, we run a variety of our own delivery truck configurations along with common carriers to promptly supply our products at reasonable costs to our customers.
Utility poles have been treated at Page & Hill for over 100 years. Currently we provide RUS (REA) approved Chemonite "ACZA" treated distribution poles and stub poles to buried cable contractors, electric cooperatives and telephone companies throughout the Midwest. These poles are grown locally and processed entirely at our location, allowing us to produce a quality product second to none. The poles are kept with strict WQC (Wood Quality Control) tolerances. We remove all bark left from mechanical peeling and reject all poles with unsightly natural defects or damage.
